2023 Chevrolet Equinox

The entry-level LS comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, heated side exterior mirrors, LED headlights, and keyless entry. The Midnight and Sport Editions are newly available for the LE this year with 18-inch gloss black wheels and black badging. Step up to the LT for extra chrome trim, or choose the RS for black-painted 19-inch wheels, a power liftgate, and roof rails. The top-level Premier comes with 18-inch wheels and a hands-free power liftgate, and a panoramic sunroof is optional for all trims except the LS.

Power for all 2023 Equinox models comes from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine that develops 175 horsepower. It works with Chevy's six-speed automatic transmission and comes with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available for any of the trims. The powertrain has plenty of pep for this small crossover. It takes just eight seconds for it to get to 60 mph.

The Equinox is easy to drive and handle. It has a responsive steering system that reacts to small inputs, and this, combined with its small size, makes it maneuverable in small spaces. The new electronically boosted brakes are quick and strong, and Chevy tuned the suspension for everyday comfort. When equipped with the available tow package, the Equinox can tow up to 3,500 pounds.

There's room for five people in the Equinox. The LS has power windows and cloth upholstery, and it offers the option for a power-adjustable driver's seat. A step up to the LT makes the power-adjustable driver's seat standard and adds the option for heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. You get a sporty black interior with red stitching in the RS, and the Premier has leather upholstery and driver's seat memory settings. Technology in the Equinox starts with a 7-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and satellite radio. An 8-inch touchscreen comes in the higher trims, and you can also get a 120-volt power outlet.

Every 2023 Chevrolet Equinox has several advanced driver aids. It comes standard with Chevy Safety Assist, which includes a forward collision warning and mitigation system with automatic braking, lane-keep assist, a rear-seat reminder, and automatic high-beam headlights. It also comes with pedestrian detection and a following distance indicator. A blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors are available for the LS and standard in the higher trims. Front and rear parking sensors come with the optional Confidence & Convenience Package, and you can also get adaptive cruise control.
